The Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) is dedicated to advancing the mission of Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) as a student-centered institution that prepares its graduates for successful careers in an evolving global marketplace. DAR's most powerful means of achieving this end is keeping alumni connected to their alma mater and mobilizing them in support of our students.

The University's alumni are global leaders in design, architecture, fashion, business, engineering, health professions, textiles, materials technology, science and other fields. They serve as global ambassadors; return to campus to share real-world experiences with students and faculty; mentor students; recruit students for internships and full-time jobs; facilitate industry-sponsored projects; encourage prospective students to learn more about Jefferson; and contribute financially.

The impact of the generosity of alumni can be seen throughout campus in the form of world-class facilities and spaces, and also in scholarship aid for students and support for leading faculty. One of DAR's most important roles is matching the philanthropic interests of Jefferson's alumni with the needs of the institution, especially with regard to preparing students for successful careers. Another vital role of DAR is educating students about the benefits of one day being active and supportive members of Jefferson's worldwide alumni network through participation in such programs as the Future Alumni Association.
