The School of Continuing and Professional Studies at Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) offers specialized short courses and certificate programs to give you up-to-date training, hands-on experience and tools that will keep you at the forefront of your field, or help you explore a new interest.

With the recurring programs as well as special one-time seminars and corporate partnerships, we provide in-demand options that will help you stay ahead of the curve.


Several certificate programs are offered at Jefferson's Center City Campus for individuals with a high school diploma or GED but no college credits. To accommodate working adults, courses are offered in the evening on the Thomas Jefferson University campus or online and all programs are offered part-time.

SAS Programming Certificate for the Pharmaceutical Industry

In collaboration with SAS Institute, this 12-week program offers state-of-the-art training for professionals interested in the dynamic field of clinical research. This three-month, non-credit program, offered annually in the fall, is designed for recent college graduates, professionals working in related fields and career-changers.

Surgical First Assisting at Caesarian Delivery Course

This six-week, interactive, online course gives women’s health professionals the foundation necessary to become competent surgical assistants. Offered five times per calendar year, this course has been approved by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM). Clinicians who successfully complete the course will receive six CEUs.
