Ed graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a Ph.D. in Physics in 2015. He teaches introductory physics to both science and non-science majors. His research interests include computational physics and geophysical fluid dynamics. In particular, he is currently working on an open-source, adaptive ocean model called SOMAR-LES that can accurately account for turbulent mixing and dissipation.
