Wendy graduated with a Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy from Nova Southeastern University, an M.B.A. from George Washington University, and a B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Boston University. She has held a variety of clinical, education, administrative and consultative positions within business and health settings, including the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) where she served as director of Public Affairs.

Prior to becoming an educator she worked in both mental health and early intervention settings. Her doctoral research involved developing and implementing an occupational lifestyle enrichment group and qualitative study on caregiver well-being.  In addition to directing the university’s graduate programs in occupational therapy, she teaches content related to professional identity, issues and trends, and facilitates students' capstone practice platforms.
