Monique Chabot, OTD, MS, OTR/L completed her OTD from Boston University and her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. She specializes in geriatrics, working with older adults in the home and on an inpatient geriatric psychiatric unit. Her experience ranges from working with older adults with orthopedic and neurological conditions, to families for dementia caregiver training and environmental modifications. She holds several specialty certifications, including CAPs, LSVT-BIG, Kinesio taping, and a massage therapy license.

Monique has a specific interest in home design for seniors and aging in place. Her doctoral work focused on increasing interprofessional collaboration among home design professionals and occupational therapists in home design for seniors. She teaches a variety of courses throughout the Master’s of Occupational Therapy program, including Innovative Practice, Older Adults, Environments, Assistive Technology, Evidence Based Practice, and Occupational Competence.

  1. In 2014, Monique was selected as an AOTA Emerging Leader, where she worked with the Home and Community Special Interest Section to increase the knowledge base of occupational therapists on home modifications.
