Rose DeRosa, MS, PA-C, EMT-P

Rose DeRosaBiographical Summary: Rose is a native of New York and has been in the Philadelphia region since 1990. She started her career as a Paramedic and returned to school completing her Physician Assistant education in 2006. As a PA, she has worked in Emergency Medicine and currently works in Cardiology specializing in Advanced Heart Failure/Cardiac Transplant at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

She has a particular interest in mechanical circulatory support in the end stage heart failure patient and enjoys sharing this information with pre-hospital emergency medical providers in the Tri State Area. She has been a guest lecturer at local EMT and Paramedic programs and frequently travels to local firehouses/EMS agencies in the region to provide education on Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs). Rose enjoys bridging her past and present career paths by sharing her knowledge of advanced heart failure with her former EMS colleagues.

At Thomas Jefferson University, Rose is alumni (Class of ’06) and is now Adjunct Faculty. She lectures on a variety of Cardiovascular topics and manages the Primary Care I clinical rotation.

When she is not working or educating others, she enjoys travelling, photography and DIY projects around her home with her family.
