Marie-Christine Potvin, PhD, OTR/L joins the faculty as the Associate Director of the Clinical Doctoral Program. She is an occupational therapist with over 19 years of practice working with children and families, with particular focus on inclusive inter-professional practices for children with intensive special education needs. She has worked in a variety of settings including early intervention, pre-schools, public schools, outpatient clinics and home health.  Marie-Christine is certified to administer and interpret the SIPT and has also passed the assistive technology practitioner exam. From 2004 until 2015 she has worked as a research faculty at the University of Vermont on a combination of consultation, training and research grants/projects.  Her primary research interests are in social participation and quality of life for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families. She has written three peer-reviewed publications on this topic and a book chapter about recreational intervention for those with ASD in the Encyclopedia of Autism Spectrum Disorders, 4th edition. She also has clinical expertise in assistive technology, feeding and swallowing, and sensory integration.
