Program Coordinator, NYC Fashion Immersion Experience

This position supports the six-credit “Fashion Immersion” course that is co-taught by full-time faculty in fashion design and in merchandising. The purpose of the course is for students to attend company visits in New York City and engage in an industry project with a forward-thinking fashion company. The Fashion Immersion course and the experiential learning component are held on Fridays from 9 a.m. to approximately 6 p.m. The time may vary, if class is attending companies in New York. The position is 27 hours per week.

We seek individuals with familiarity with the fashion district in New York. Applicants with college-level teaching experience, particularly with experiential learning, are welcomed. Excellent professionalism and communication skills to internal and external parties. Must be able to travel to New York with students on the prescheduled days.

Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree or higher

•    Oversee the planning and logistics of the course, including schedule and confirm hotels, charter buses, fashion company visits and attendance of exhibits.
•    Handle all communication with external parties for logistics.
•    Coordinate all logistics pertaining to students’ attendance at the four-day Fashion Week; attend Fashion Week with faculty and students in September.
•    During the fall semester, write and send weekly communication with students/faculty regarding itinerary, deadlines, etc.
•    Support students throughout the various phases of the industry-sponsored project, per instructions from faculty, including video conferencing that may be required during the week.
•    Assist with details for the students’ final presentations at the NYC industry partner; update key stakeholders with project deliverables.
•    Work with the Kanbar College Manager of Academic Operations to submit and track expenses, with requisite receipts, and? process all payments, per the budget for Fashion Immersion.
