NBA Starts and Top High School Players Come to PhilaU Philadelphia University welcomed some of the nation’s best high school basketball players to compete for the attention of top collegiate coaches and scouts at the Reebok Breakout Challenge and the Mary Kline Classic, two premier basketball recruiting events. The Mary Kline Classic, a fundraiser for cancer research organized by basketball scouting wunderkind Alex Kline, brought many of the nation’s top high school prospects to campus to play in a four-team tournament. The event was featured in dozens of media outlets, including the New York Post, SI.com and the Philadelphia Inquirer. Some 140 top high school hoopsters attended the Reebok Breakout Challenge, which Philadelphia University hosted for the fifth time in 2012. NBA stars John Wall of the Washington Wizards, Jason Terry of the Boston Celtics and Jameer Nelson of the Orlando Magic visited the camp to mentor and assist the younger players.
