PhilaU Hosts Second Annual Sustainability Forum Philadelphia University hosted the second annual Sustainability Forum in April, organized by PhilaU’s Student Organization for Sustainable Action. The forum demonstrates how sustainable practices play a role in our lives and how forthcoming sustainable initiatives will shape our future. The two-day event featured live music, local vendors, activities, exhibits and presentations on green practices at PhilaU. Keynote speaker Kent Anson, vice president of Honeywell Corporation, reported on the status of the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment, along with Victoria Herrero-Garcia, Honeywell’s Act!Earth Coordinator. The Climate Commitment is a plan to achieve carbon neutrality in buildings across college campuses nationwide. Highlights 2012-2013 • 87
