Lorraine Schnabel

Lorraine Schnabel, Manager, Schnabel Conservation LLC

Ms. Schnabel received her undergraduate degree in Geology from Pomona College in Claremont, California. After working as a professional geologist for the US Geological Survey for a number of years, she attended the Historic Preservation program at Columbia University, obtaining her Master’s degree with a concentration in Architectural Conservation. After a one year post grad internship at the then Smithsonian Conservation Analytical Laboratory, doing research on marble consolidation, she maintained a private architectural conservation practice in New York. Subsequently she relocated to the Philadelphia area where she worked for two different preservation architecture firms before returning to private practice in 2006. Interests and expertise are in masonry conservation, not only stone, but also brick, terra cotta, and concrete. Historic concrete and mortars are a particular interest.
